Earth Month 2018

In honor of Earth Day (earth month), Agape Salon has set aside two whole months to love, celebrate, and raise funds to protect the Earth and it’s amazing people. This is on our fifth year partnering with Aveda to raise funds for Earth Month, and our second year exceeding our goal.

Aveda determines our goal based on our size, number of employees, and the type of salon we are. Here at Agape, we are an Aveda concept salon which means we use all Aveda products and hair color. Our goal this year was $2,500.00 All of the proceeds raised go to The SurfRider Foundation. You may visit their website to learn more about them www.surfrider.org Everyone should have access to clean water to drink, surf, swim. and play in.

The Surfrider Foundation is taking a multi-tiered approach to tackle ocean pollution problems. They are testing the waters for bacteria and toxins, raising public awareness, and finding real solutions to ocean pollution. These solutions restore healthy watersheds, protect local water supplies, and keep pollution from reaching the ocean. Our total donation for Surfrider is $2,775.00.

Light the Way

Another part of our fundraising for Earth Month is Aveda’s signature limited-edition “Light the Way” candles™. Aveda donates 100% of the purchase price, (base on its suggested retail price of $14), to Global Greengrants Fund for water-related projects in 85 countries. Since 2007 we’ve helped 920,000 people achieve clean water.
Our total in candles this year is $336.00.

Our total Earth Month donation this year is $3,111.00
